FAQ: GoSolo for Developers and IT Pros

Can I withdraw funds to my personal account?

Yes. You can transfer funds from your GoSolo business account to any UK personal account at any time, with no extra charges.

Do I need to be a UK resident to open an account?

You don’t need to live in the UK, but you do need a UK-registered Ltd company.
GoSolo helps you set it up if you don’t have one — fully online, no UK address or director residency required. Check our Non-UK residents plan for more information.

How do I get paid with GoSolo?

You can request a payment via local bank transfer or get paid by card – simply generate branded invoices or create payment links to share with clients via email, chat, or SMS. Clients pay via card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — no account or app needed on their side.

Is GoSolo suitable for SaaS, marketplaces or digital products?

GoSolo works best for freelance developers, consultants, agencies, and small service-based businesses. If you're running a full SaaS with subscriptions or mass payouts, other solutions may be better — but for solo or small-scale services, GoSolo is ideal.

Does GoSolo integrate with accounting tools like Xero?

Yes. GoSolo has built-in Xero integration for seamless bookkeeping. You can also export transactions in CSV format and invite your accountant as a free team member.

Can I use GoSolo if I work with international clients?

Absolutely. You can accept payments from international clients via card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments settle in GBP directly into your GoSolo account.

Can I invoice in other currencies?

Every GoSolo invoice has a built-in payment link, so your clients can pay in their local currency (USD, EUR etc.), and the amount is converted to GBP at the card issuer’s rate. There are no added conversion fees from GoSolo.

What are the card processing fees in GoSolo?

GoSolo uses Interchange++ pricing:
0.5% + £0.20 per transaction — for all card payment methods, including Tap to Pay, payment links, invoices, etc. That’s often up to 4x cheaper than Stripe or PayPal for UK and EU clients.

Does GoSolo work with Stripe, PayPal or other gateways?

You don’t need them — GoSolo offers its own payment solution, powered by Adyen, with lower fees than Stripe or PayPal. If needed, you can still connect external tools manually, but most developers find GoSolo replaces them entirely.

How long does it take to receive my payments?

Instantly or almost instantly. All payments settle directly to your GoSolo account — no batching, no delays.
